Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) Malawi

Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) Malawi is a locally registered NGO that has been operating in Malawi since 1995. Our mission is to work with the communities by promoting social and economic development through health, education training, food security and environmental programs. Our work in development is guided by social cohesion and respect for humanity, implemented through innovative and cost-effective programs. Through a variety of development models, DAPP complements the government’s effort in implementing the Malawi Growth and Development Strategy II.

DAPP Malawi is inviting suitably qualified and experienced persons to apply for the listed positions for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Finland-MFA funded project called Building a brighter future for girls and children living with disabilities in Dowa District.

The project will build capacity and strengthen 210 primary school teachers’ pedagogical performance and improve learners’ performance by creating conducive learning environments for 10,500 learners including those with disabilities. It will improve schools’ hygiene and sanitation, which will affect attendance, particularly among early graders and girls. The project will also advocate for accountability of rights and duty bearers to protect girls and learners with disabilities.

Coaches

Key Performance Areas

The project Coaches report directly to the project Leader and will be responsible for the implementation of activities in 21 primary schools and for 42 Community Action Coordinators (2 per school).  Among other responsibilities the Project Coaches will organize trainings and plan community campaigns in Inclusive Education with the Community Action Coordinators. They will also be responsible to gather required data from the implementing schools.

Qualifications, Experience and attributes

Minimum Diploma in Education

  • Experience in implementing DAPP Pedagogy in a primary school
  • Must possess a valid motorbike license and prove that he/she is able to drive motorbike
