MINISTRY OF MINING
Vac. 83/24
Post: Chief Cartographer (Grade I)
Salary: Within the Grade I salary scale segment
Location: Department of Geological Survey (Zomba)
Qualifications :
Applicants should be in possession of a Bachelor of Science Degree in either Geology or Earth Science, obtained from accredited institutions.
Duties:
- Planning and reviewing statistical maps;
- Adapting and interpreting aerial photographic suitable for use in census and statistical surveys;
- Assisting in updating of Enumeration Area (EA) Maps;
- Checking census mapping forms from the field;
- Undertaking all cartographic tasks in the Department.
Note:
Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
