Job Purpose

Reporting to the Head of Commercial Banking, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth, revenue generation, delivering exceptional customer service and developing a high performing team. He/ she will also be responsible for ensuring that the business processes, procedures and standards that have been defined by the Bank are adhered to by all branch staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Driving business growth and revenue generation.
  • Analyzing business growth opportunities in the local market and develop appropriate strategies for capturing and growing our market share.
  • Working jointly and proactively with business segments and product partners to increase Ecobank’s wallet share within the respective markets.
  • Reviewing Call Plans for all Commercial Banking Account Relationship Managers attached to the branch with a view to enhancing customer wallet share, business volumes and earnings.
  • Achieving targeted product cross sell ratios and increase customer adoption of Ecobank’s products and services.
  • Ensuring that various business segments in the branch maintain a good balance sheet (Deposits & Assets) that is commensurate with overall budget projections.
  • Growing the deposit base of the branch with specific focus on growing low-cost deposits, collections, value-chain business and channels – across all business segments.
  • Achieving cost-income ratio targets of the branch.
  • Attaining targeted sales goals, performance targets and customer satisfaction levels through the effective management of resources.
  • Constantly reviewing strategies to ensure that excellent, efficient and comprehensive customer service delivery, quality standards and branch ambience are constantly upheld in the branch.
  • Promoting high ethical and integrity standards and ensure the Ecobank Values are sustained and evident at the branch.
  • Ensuring there is a strong internal control system in place and monitor its adequacy and effectiveness.
  • Achieving “Satisfactory” branch audit rating and fully comply with KYC/AML and regulatory guidelines.
    Managing the loan book proactively to prevent deterioration.
  • Building and developing a high performing team by driving performance development and coaching to achieve productivity and efficiency ratios for the bank and maximise the potential of staff.
  • Establishing and sustaining a customer-centric business culture in the branch, leveraging on people and technology to ensure service quality and excellence in the delivery of our products and services.
  • Sustaining/driving increased digital channel utilization with a specific focus on ATM uptime, Card adoption, POS activity levels, EcobankPay, Omni Lite.

Qualification and Experience

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics and Accountancy plus at least 5 years branch management experience in the banking industry.
