We have an exciting opportunity for a Branch Lead to join our team! Reporting directly to the Malawi Head of Operations, this vital position is responsible for overseeing the overall functioning of the Malawi branch, ensuring operations run smoothly and in compliance with regulations. The Branch Lead will also manage the financial aspects of the branch, ensuring optimal cash levels and efficient scheduling at all times. With the Branch Managers reporting to this position, the Branch Lead plays a crucial role in driving success and shaping the future of the branch.
Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of Mukuru Money Transfer branches.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve branch targets and goals.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and industry standards.
- Lead and motivate branch staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Monitor and analyse branch performance, providing regular reports to senior management.
- Improve communication between tellers, agents, schedulers to ensure visibility of work being done in branches and collaboration between teams.
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize overall company performance.
- Conduct regular training sessions for branch staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Handle and resolve escalated customer issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Implement and maintain efficient cash management procedures.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the branches.
- Lead the team and advise on the right structures to build a sustainable team that delivers on business expectations.
- Present monthly progress on team’s performance and areas of improvement to grow branch network.
- Attend own monthly KPI meeting with the Head of Operations.
- Complete all required compliance training and assignments.
- Attend all required training courses for new products.
- Ensure that newly introduced products/services and promotions are properly communicated to customers in all the branches.
- Maintain current knowledge of Mukuru products and industry trends.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or a related field.
- Proven experience in branch operations within the financial or money transfer industry.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to money transfer operations.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
