VACANCY ADVERTISEMENTS FOR THE POSITION OF SOCIAL PLANNING OFFICER (GRADE RA6)

The Roads Authority (RA) was created by Act No. 3 of 2006 to ensure that public roads are constructed, maintained or rehabilitated at all times; and to advise the Minister, and where appropriate, the Minister responsible for Local Government on the preparation and efficient and effective implementation of the Annual National Roads Programme.

The Roads Authority (RA) is inviting applications from suitably qualified Malawians to fill the vacant position of Assistant Procurement Officer (Grade RA 8) tenable at the RA head office, Functional Building in Lilongwe.

Assistant Procurement Officer
The Assistant Procurement Officer will be responsible for the procurement of Works, Consultancy Services and Goods for both Government funded projects and Donor funded projects.

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Assistant Procurement Officer will specifically be responsible for:

  1. Participating in preparation and publication of procurement notices, inviting for bids and calling for expression of interest;
  2. Maintaining procurement registers and files;
  3. Assisting in preparing procurement reports;
  4. Ensuring that signed contracts copies are distributed to all relevant units and clients;
  5. Handling the dispatch and collection of procurement mail;
  6. Participating in the development and reviewing of procurement record management systems and policies;
  7. Assisting in verifying and vetting procurement documents to ensure adherence to relevant regulations;
  8. Preparing bid documents and participating in evaluation of tenders and
  9. Carrying out data entry and processing activities.

The desired candidate must have the following qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities:-

  1. Diploma in Procurement and Supply from a recognized University;
  2. At least two (2) years experience in the procurement of Works, Consultancy Services and Goods;
  3. Must be computer literate;
  4. Ability to understand and interpret Public Procurement related laws and regulations;
  5. Honesty and integrity;
  6. Attention to detail;
  7. Good communication skills;
  8. Excellent numerical and analytical skills and
  9. Good report writing skills.
