The Malawi School of Government (MSG) is a unique higher education Statutory Corporation established through Act of Parliament No. 33 of 2022. Our primary mission is to play a pivotal role in shaping Malawi’s present and future by developing and delivering human resource development programmes and enhancing the capacity of the public and private sectors through education and training, research, consultancy, and advisory services. MSG invites suitably qualified, highly motivated and agile candidates to fill the following positions existing at its secretariat and both at Kanengo Campus (formerly Malawi Institute of Management) and Mpemba Campus (formerly Staff Development Institute):

ASSISTANT PROCUREMENT AND DISPOSAL OFFICER

Job Summary: To support the provision of procurement and asset disposal services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Procurement and Disposal

  1. Compile internal purchase requisitions from user sections.
  2. Source quotations and prepare comparative sheets for quotations.
  3. Procure goods, works and services.
  4. Prepare Local Purchase Orders.
  5. Follow up on undelivered items with suppliers.
  6. Open, record and close Tender documents.

Record keeping

  1. Maintain procurement records.

Reporting

  1. Prepare and submit progress reports.

Qualification and other attributes

  • Diploma in Procurement and Supply and related fields from an accredited or recognised institution by the National Council for Higher Education.
  • 2 years relevant experience.
  • Must be a registered member of a relevant professional body in Malawi
