Copyright Society of Malawi (COSOMA), a statutory organization established under Section 5 of the Copyright Act of 2016 has the following vacant positions in its establishment:

Job Title: Assistant Administration Officer

Department : HR and Administration

Purpose of the Job

To assist in the coordination and management of day-to-day office activities for COSOMA.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting in ensuring that all property of COSOMA is insured and insurance claims properly handled;
  • Ensuring that COSOMA’s premises are clean
  • Assisting in scheduling maintenance of office furniture, equipment and buildings
  • Updating inventory listing of all COSOMA’s office assets
  • Assisting in improving internal and external telephone communication
  • Preparing and submitting periodic reports
  • Ensuring that all utility bills, city rates and ground rates for COSOMA’s offices are paid on time and reported accordingly.
  • Ensuring efficient operation of the registry.

Minimum Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Advanced or Higher Diploma in Business Administration/Management or Human Resource Management.
  • A minimum of 2 years work experience.

  • Possess good interpersonal skills, e.g. tact, sensitivity, ability to listen, to be assertive at times.
  • Ability to work quickly, flexibly, effectively and positively in response to requests made at short notice.
  • Pro-active, ability to work under own initiative without direction
  • Good organisational skills and able to pay attention to detail
  • The ability to contribute to and work effectively within a team environment
  • Flexible and adaptable,
  • Computer literate
