WBR’s robust Buffalo Bicycles are a cost-effective and reliable means of overcoming the challenges posed by long distances and systemic mobility challenges in developing countries. The organization is a mission-driven, global nonprofit that manages a highly refined bicycle supply chain from design through final distribution.

We are looking for a suitable candidate to fill the below post:

AFTER SALES OFFICER

Purpose of the job:

  • Lead WBR / Buffalo Bicycle Malawi’s spare parts sales and marketing initiatives in coordination with the Country Director.
  • Plan, coordinate, implement and manage spare parts sales and marketing programs in line with the organization’s strategic objectives and targets.
  • Provide Project Management leadership in areas of product development, retail shop expansion and new business development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Achieve monthly spare parts sales target
  • Create a comprehensive annual spare parts sales and marketing strategy
  • Log, address, and relay any quality problems and customer complaints to PD and Country Director
  • Develop sound customer insights by overseeing the conducting of focus group/ customer research in liaison with M&E every quarter
  • Working with Field Mechanic Trainer to undertake frequent field visits post distribution to monitor the work of the Mobilized Communities/customer field mechanic and assess bicycles at MC sites or customers, to conduct periodic Market activations and bicycle service Clinics
  • Deliver key financial sales metrics and manage a resource constrained Marketing budget
  • Schedule and run sales meetings and follow up with customers about delivery of bicycles and Spare parts; create and build scalable alternative sales channels (NGOs, Dairy farmers, Retailers, Mobilized Communities, Donor funded schools, Supermarkets, Farmers, SMEs, Corporates HR Departments, Security companies, informal groups etc.)
  • Collect and manage accounts receivable according to customer payment terms
  • Train Mechanics in our program areas or where we are offering Technical Advisory expertise
  • Manage the enlistment of existing bicycle mechanics in close proximity to our shop network converting them to new customers
  • Supervise and lead all shop controllers
  • Any other duties assigned

  • Product Knowledge.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Sales and Marketing
  • Must have progressive wholesale and retail experience
  • 3 years post-qualification experience
  • Clean Drivers License
