The National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited (NEEF) is a government-owned Microfinance Institution whose mission is to economically empower ordinary and underserved Malawians (particularly women, youth, and persons with disability) through the provision of quality, affordable, and sustainable microfinance services for improved livelihoods.

NEEF invites applications from suitably qualified, mature, ambitious, professional Malawi nationals with a passion for results and respect for ethics and hands-on experience to fill the vacant position of:

PROCUREMENT ASSISTANT (NF7)

The Procurement Assistant shall be responsible for carrying out routine procurement activities and record keeping and documentation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing local purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the Funds policies.
  • Maintain a record of local purchase orders, receipts and invoices
  • Maintain organised and up to date procurement records, including supplier agreements, contracts and correspondences.
  • Prepare and maintain procurement reports
  • Assist in performing supplier due diligence
  • Assist in the preparation of evaluation reports and contracts assist in the preparation of monthly procurement reports
  • Provide administrative support to the procurement team, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars + Assist in drafting and distributing procurement related communications
  • Updating a yearly procurement and disposal plan

Personal Attributes and Skills

  • Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Effective Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Basic understanding of procurement processes

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Purchasing and Supply obtained from a recognized institution with CIPS membership.
  • 2 years practical experience in management of procurement in a busy environment
