Malawi Electoral Commission

The Malawi Electoral Commission, “the Commission”, is a body corporate created under Section 75(1) of the Constitution, to supervise, direct and preside over the conduct of all elections in Malawi.

In accordance with Section 13 of the Malawi Electoral Commission Act, the Commission seeks to appoint suitably qualified persons with relevant experience to fill the following vacant position within its secretariat:

Job Title: Assistant Procurement and Disposal of Assets Officer

Responsible to : Procurement Officer
Responsible for: Procurement Clerk
Location: MEC Head Office

Purpose

To assist in the facilitation of procurement of works, goods and services for MEC programmes

Key duties & Responsibilities:

  • Distributing prepared documents for the procurement of works, goods and services to guide MEC staff on prevailing procurement policies and guidelines;
  • Filing all relevant procurement documentation for post review purposes;
  • Undertaking random checks for advice on cost estimates and quotations for constituency, relevance and conformity to the conditions of funding;
  • Checking and ensuring that relevant procedures are adhered to in the procurement of goods and services;
  • Monitoring and reporting on management of procurement by the Commission;
  • Assisting in monitoring of supplier performance;
  • Assisting the Procurement Officer in all procurement related matters.

Qualification

Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Procurement related field plus two (2) years’ relevant work experience

Age

25 – 35 years
