Malawi Electoral Commission

The Malawi Electoral Commission, “the Commission”, is a body corporate created under Section 75(1) of the Constitution, to supervise, direct and preside over the conduct of all elections in Malawi.

In accordance with Section 13 of the Malawi Electoral Commission Act, the Commission seeks to appoint suitably qualified persons with relevant experience to fill the following vacant position within its secretariat:

Number Required: 7
Grade: C8
Responsible to: Warehouse Supervisor
Location: MEC Head Office and Regional Offices (Centre, South and North)

Purpose

To keep custody of election material and supplies. This includes receiving, preparing, and delivering election materials and supplies to the appropriate locations or departments. The Warehouse Clerk will also be responsible for keeping accurate records and tracking inventory.

Key duties & Responsibilities

  • Receiving election materials and supplies from various locations and verify the quantity and quality against delivery notes and packing lists
  • Entering and updating stock levels in the system
  • Dispatch and retrieving materials and equipment to and from users
  • Packaging of election materials for distribution and or retrieval Delivering of election materials and supplies to various locations
  • Ensuring proper stocking of materials in the Warehouse Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Following all safety procedures and regulations
  • Preparing reports about election materials and inventory levels and ensure they are complete, accurate, and ready for submission
  • Recording stock levels in the Warehouse
  • Maintaining accurate records on ledgers and inventory
  • Supervising Warehouse Assistants.

Qualification

Certificate in Purchasing and Supplies/ Logistics or Supply Chain Management.

Age

25 – 35 years

Core competence

  • At least 2 years work experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team Previous experience in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to stay focused and work over long period of time
  • Excellent work ethics and time management skills
