PMI Evolve Malawi Project is funded by the U.S President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI/USAID to support the Ministry of Health through the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) in the distribution of Insecticide Treated Nets (ITNs) in 5 districts during the 2024 mass ITN distribution campaign with the overall goal of reducing the burden of malaria. The PMI Evolve project is implemented by Abt Global LLC.

PMI Evolve Malawi Project, with support from the District Councils and NMCP, is hiring temporary staff to support the distribution of ITNs in the 5 districts namely Balaka, Mangochi, Nkhotakota, Nkhata Bay and Salima. All the posts are temporary, with a duration of 10-20 days.

Distribution Assistants (168)

Specific Responsibilities:

  • In liaison with the Distribution Store Site Manager and Storekeeper, prepare orders for ITNs and other materials for the assigned distribution sites/points according to the distribution plan.
  • Assist the storekeeper in daily preparations for ITs and other distribution materials for the various assigned distribution sites/points daily
  • Ensure timely and smooth delivery and distribution of ITs in the assigned distribution sites/points.
  • In liaison with distribution teams, manage reversal of INs from the assigned distribution sites/points after each distribution day and ensure that all assigned ITs are accounted for or reconciled with the storekeeper.
  • Provide oversight on proper documentation and inventory at the assigned distribution site/point.
  • In liaison with distribution teams and local leaders, ensure security of all assigned ITs and other materials before and after distribution.
  • Keep track of receipts, records regarding movement of all assigned commodities.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • A minimum certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or related field or experience.
  • Those with experience in distributing commodities to communities or humanitarian work will have added advantage.
  • Willingness to work during odd hours, independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Applicants should be aged 18 years old and above.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Remuneration package is MWK15,000 per day.
