Job Announcement

PMI Evolve Malawi Project is funded by the U.S President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI/USAID) to support the Ministry of Health through the National Malaria Control Program (NMCP) in the distribution of Insecticide Treated Nets (ITNs) in 5 districts during the 2024 mass ITN distribution campaign with the overall goal of reducing the burden of malaria. The PMI Evolve project is implemented by Abt Global LLC.

PMI Evolve Malawi Project, with support from the District Councils and NMCP, is hiring temporary staff to support the distribution of ITNs in the 5 districts namely Balaka, Mangochi, Nkhotakota, Nkhata Bay and Salima. All the positions are temporary, with a duration of 10-20 days.

Job descriptions and qualifications required for the positions.

1.1 Distribution Assistants (168)

Specific Responsibilities:

In liaison with the Distribution Store Site Manager and Storekeeper, prepare orders for ITNs and other materials for the assigned distribution sites/points according to the distribution plan.
Assist the storekeeper in daily preparations for ITNs and other distribution materials for the various assigned distribution sites/points daily.
Ensure timely and smooth delivery and distribution of ITNs in the assigned distribution sites/points.
In liaison with distribution teams, manage reversal of ITNs from the assigned distribution sites/points after each distribution day and ensure that all assigned ITNs are accounted for or reconciled with the storekeeper.
Provide oversight on proper documentation and inventory at the assigned distribution site/point.
In liaison with distribution teams and local leaders, ensure security of all assigned ITNs and other materials before and after distribution.
Keep track of receipts, records regarding movement of all assigned commodities.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and requirements:

A minimum certificate in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or related field or experience.
Those with experience in distributing commodities to communities or humanitarian work will have added advantage.
Willingness to work during odd hours, independently, as well as part of a team.
Applicants should be aged 18 years old and above.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

Renumeration package is MWK15,000 per day

1.2 Security Guards (112)

Specific responsibilities:

Ensure security at the storage area.
Allow only authorized personnel to enter a storeroom, following guidance from the storekeeper.
Ensure that the store areas are always clean, locked when not occupied.

Qualifications and requirements:

Should have at least MSCE or above.
Those with guarding experience will have added advantage.
Willingness to work in any assigned location in the district.
Understand and communicate in the local language of the community.
Willingness to work during odd hours.
Applicants should be aged 25 years old and above.
Qualified women are strongly encouraged to apply.
Renumeration package is MWK7,000 per day
