INVITATION FOR BIDS FOR THE SUPPLY OF CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS AND OTHER ITEMS

The Malawi Red Cross Society (MRCS) is a voluntary based humanitarian organization established in 1966 by Act 51 of Parliament with the mandate to assist the vulnerable communities. The recent cholera outbreak in Malawi which started in March, 2022 with the first case reported in Machinga district. The outbreak quickly spread to all 29 districts affecting the entire country. It is against this background that MRCS received funding for cholera preparedness in five districts for Nsanje, Blantyre, Mangochi, Salima and Karonga to provide preventive WASH and Health services such as hygiene education and promotion, sanitation and safe water supply so as to prevent and control cholera outbreak that may occur.

Malawi Red Cross Internal Procurement Committee (IPC) therefore, invites sealed bids from eligible bidders as follows;

1. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the open tendering procedures and is open to all interested bidders.

2. Interested eligible bidders may request bid documents for construction materials, IEC and Printing Materials only and obtain further information through the following email address; internalprocurement@redcross.mw.

3. Documents may be delivered at Malawi Red Cross Society Head Offices, Area 14, along presidential high way. Address: P. O. Box 30096 | Lilongwe| Malawi

4. Malawi Red Cross reserves the right to reject any or all bids and is not bound to accept the lowest or any bidder

• Price Quotation, VAT inclusive, in Malawian Kwacha.
• Business Registration Certificate
• Tax remittance Certificate and VAT
• Latest Bank Statement of not more than three months.
• PPDA
• Reference not more than 3 years.

Hand delivery to Malawi Red Cross Offices (Lilongwe in Area 14) in sealed envelopes clearly marked “ITEM NO/REFERENCE”, on or before 11th OCTOBER 2024 at 10:30AM and addressed to;

Note:

MRCS has zero tolerance for all forms of harassment, discrimination, abuse, and bullying, especially pertaining to children and vulnerable adults. The contractor will be required to commit to adhere to MRCS safeguarding policies & code of conduct. The contractor will ensure all staff on the project sign up to safeguarding policies as required. The Contractor will be required to support district and community-level structures in understanding and implementing of safeguarding policies
