The Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) is a relatively new University formed by merging the College of Medicine and Kamuzu College of Nursing and established by an Act of Parliament (No. 20 of 2019). It is a comprehensive health and allied sciences University and intends to train more health professionals that are globally competent but locally relevant.

The Learning Centre for Quality Management under the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHeS) wishes to develop a website to serve as a platform for promoting its mission, sharing learning resources, documenting best practices, conducting research, and fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals, policymakers, and partners. The Centre seeks a web development partner (Individual) to execute key phases of the website project, namely design, development, testing, launch, and post-launch support.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The objective is to engage a qualified vendor to deliver the following key phases of the website development process:

  • Design Concept & Approval
  • Development & Testing
  • Final Testing & Launch
  • Post-launch Support & Maintenance
  • Content Upload – supporting the upload of content developed in-house

Expertise and Qualifications

  • Experience in Similar Projects: The vendor should demonstrate a proven track record in designing and developing websites, particularly for NGOs, research institutions, or healthcare-related organizations.
  • CMS Expertise: Experience in working with popular CMS platforms, preferably WordPress.
  • Security Expertise: Ability to implement security measures such as SSL, secure forms, and access control.
  • SEO and Performance Optimization: Proven knowledge in website optimization for SEO and fast loading times.
  • Accessibility: Experience creating websites which follow Web Content
    Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1
  • Support and Training: Experience in providing post-launch support, website maintenance, and team training.

Submission Requirements: Interested eligible bidders must submit sealed expressions of interest, including updated CVs, portfolio of past projects (links to live websites preferred), copies of academic and professional qualifications, and documentation detailing relevant experience. The documents should be submitted to the address below no later than 20th December 2024. Late submissions will not be accepted.
