Following the enactment of the Persons with Disabilities Act, 2024 and the establishment of the Malawi Council for Disability Affairs (MACODA), replacing the Malawi Council for the Handicapped (МАСОНА) that was established under the Handicapped Persons Act, 1971, we are pleased to invite submissions for the design of a new logo to represent the Council’s updated statutory image and the attendant new legal mandate of protecting and promoting fundamental rights and freedoms of persons with disabilities. MACODA is the enforcement agency of the new disability legislation, the Persons with Disabilities Act, 2024.
The ideal MACODA logo should be an evolution of the existing design, blending simplicity, modernity, energy and innovation. It must incorporate the acronym MACODA and the full organisation’s name, symbolising the essence of a statutory body committed to protecting and promoting the fundamental rights of persons with disabilities along the spirit, principles and objectives of the Persons with Disabilities Act and United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD).
Your creation should be easily recognisable, accessible, and distinctly different from other logos, versatile in both colour and black and white renditions. You are welcome to present any colour schemes to showcase your creativity.
This call is exclusively open to Malawians as well as individuals, companies or entities specialising in communication and graphic designing. A payment of K250, 000 will be made for the chosen design. To be considered, submit your high-resolution design along with a detailed design description and complete contact information to ed@macoha.mw copying harriet.kachimanga@macoha.mw by the deadline of 15th July, 2024.
