CALL FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST TO DEVELOP THE 2025-2027 STRATEGIC PLAN
FOR THE INSTITUTE OF CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS IN MALAWI (ICAM)

A. INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND

ICAM is a Professional Accountancy Organization (PAO) in Malawi. ICAM was incorporated as a public company limited by guarantee on 23 August 2013. ICAM took over and merged the operations of the Society of Accountants in Malawi (SOCAM) and those of the Public Accountants Examination Council (PAEC). The merger of SOCAM and PAEC to form ICAM was facilitated by the Public Accountants and Auditors Act (Act No 5 of 2013).

ICAM’s mandate is to continuously review and disseminate to its members and others information concerning international developments in technical matters affecting the profession of accounting and auditing; to set examinations for those desirous of qualifying for registration under the Act; to performing such other functions relating to the training of accountants and the requisite qualifications for the registration of accountants.

In order to achieve its objectives, the Institute is guided by strategic plans. The current three year strategic plan is expiring in December 2024.The Institute will therefore be developing another three-year Strategic Plan covering the period 2025-2027.

It is against this background that ICAM seeks the services of a qualified professional or a consultancy firm to develop the above three-year strategic plan which will define its vision, mission, values and strategic interventions to fulfil its mandate.

B. METHOD OF APPLICATION

ICAM invites eligible interested consultants) or firms to express their interest for the development of the strategic plan by providing technical and financial proposal in addition to the following information:-
