EXPRESSION OF INTEREST EXTERNAL AUDIT SERVICES
1.0. Background of National Organization of Nurses and Midwives of Malawi (NONM)
The National Organization of Nurses and Midwives of Malawi (NONM) founded in 1979 is an independent, non-partisan, non-governmental and professional organization representing nurses and midwives of Malawi. Its goals are to safeguard nurses/midwives & professional, organizational, trade union and social economic interests; and to influence nursing and midwifery professions i.e., education, practice, and research, thereby serving the population of Malawi. The organization confines its interests to nurses/midwives and the nursing/midwifery profession.
2.0. Audit Services Needed
We would like to engage a reputable audit firm to carry out external audit for NONM from 2024 financial year. The contract will be renewable every two-years period as per the requirement of the organisation.
3.0. Details of the Assignment
The audit firm will be expected to perform yearly comprehensive and through audit of NONM in accordance with International Standards of Auditing (“ISA”). The audit report will include an Independent Auditors Report (Opinion) on the financial statements.
The audit will also include such other required schedules or analyses as will be deemed necessary in order to ensure that program resources, procedures and activities of NONM are done in compliance with all financial set standards. The auditors will further assess NONM’s compliance with relevant applicable regulatory authorities at all levels.
4.0. Eligibility Criteria
Eligible Audit firms should meet the following criteria.
- Compliance with legal requirements of registration
- The audit firm must have a minimum of 10 years in audit reporting under the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
- Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM) and the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC)
- Confirmation that the firm is independent of NONM and its partners.
- Results of the latest practice reviews conducted by the firm’s internal quality reviewers and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM). This is subject to verification with ICAM.
- Compliance with the IFAC code of ethics
- Experience in reviewing various projects funded by various donors.
- Number of professional Staff – Partners, Managers and Audit Staff
- Experience carrying out previous similar exercises for the past ten years.
5.0. Submission Guidelines
Kindly submit all your documents to the NONM Internal Procurement Committee, by 22 July 2024 at 17:00 PM. Label your Technical and Financial Proposal as Expression of Interest to offer External Audit Service.
