Lilongwe Catholic Health Commission (LLCHC) is the Social and Health Arm of the Catholic Archdiocese of Lilongwe. It ensures that the health services that the Catholic Church provides in the Archdiocese are accessible to the rural masses and the quality of care being provided is in line with professional standards and in the footsteps of Jesus Christ the founder of the Healing Ministry. The Archdiocese covers seven districts of Lilongwe, Kasungu, Dowa, Ntchisi, Nkhotakota, Salima and Mchinji.

LLCHC champions the following two major tasks, mandates and operations:

  • Coordination of health services at its 17 health facilities.
  • Coordination of community health programmes such as HIIV/AIDS, Nutrition, Tuberculosis, Sexual and reproductive health, Early Childhood Development, Malaria, OVC, Maternal and Child Health, Water Hygiene and Sanitation, School Health COVID 19 Response Mechanism and Gender Based Violence among others.

Lilongwe Catholic Health Commission (LLCHC) seeks qualified Malawian candidates for the USAID funded Ana ndi Achinyamata Patsogolo (ANAPA) Project being implemented by Project Hope Namibia (PHN) with Lilongwe Catholic Health Commission as a Sub partner. The project aimed at preventing new HIV infections and improving the health well-being and Protection of Children, Adolescents, their families and Young Women (CAFYW) living with, affected by and vulnerable to HIV

We are looking to fill the following position:

Position: Human Resource Officer
Duty Station: Lilongwe
Reporting to: Director of Social Services
Minimum Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

The Archdiocese of Lilongwe Catholic Health Commission is seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resource Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, organized, and innovative individual to contribute to our mission of delivering quality services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day human resource functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and staff management.
  • Develop and implement HR policies in alignment with the organization’s values and objectives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of employee contracts, leave management, and payroll inputs.
  • Support performance management processes and foster professional development among staff.
  • Provide creative solutions to HR-related challenges and ensure compliance with employment laws.
  • Facilitate communication between management and staff to maintain a positive work environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a busy organization (experience in the NGO sector is an added advantage).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
