Employment Opportunity: Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

Location: Lilongwe, Malawi

Ziweto Enterprises Limited, a high-growth agribusiness specializing in the livestock sector, is seeking a dynamic Chief Finance Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations. With a network of agrovet shops, a feed mill, and a poultry breeding farm, we aim to drive agricultural productivity, enhance livestock health, and contribute to Malawi’s agricultural economy.

Role Overview:
As CFO, you will be part of Ziweto’s executive leadership, overseeing financial strategy, planning, and operations. You will ensure regulatory compliance, manage capital-raising initiatives, and enhance profitability during a period of rapid growth and expansion. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring financial expertise, strategic insights, and a results-driven approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business growth.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Ensure compliance with IAS/IFRS/GAAP standards.
• Manage relationships with investors, auditors, and regulators.
• Lead capital-raising efforts and optimize the company’s financial performance.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives and improve operational efficiency.
• Build and mentor a high-performing finance team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; professional qualifications (CA, ACCA, CIMA); a member in good standing with ICAM and MAB.
• At least 10 years of experience, with 5 in senior finance roles in growth-stage or publicly listed companies.
• Strong knowledge of corporate finance, capital markets, and financial reporting.
• Proven experience in investor relations and capital raising.
• Leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems.
• MBA or Master’s degree is an added advantage.
