Centre for Environmental Policy and Advocacy (CEPA) is a nongovernmental organization that promotes sustainable environment and natural resources management. The organization’s vision is a just and equitable society that promotes sustainable development, focusing on natural resources, biodiversity, and climate change.
CEPA in partnership with WASTE Advisers has received a grant from the European Union to implement a three-year food systems project ‘Promoting Organic Systems of Soil Improvement to Build a Lasting Economy’ (POSSIBLE). The project seeks to promote sustainable and resilient food systems through demonstrative research and advocacy on waste-to-compost systems for improving soil health and waste management in Lilongwe and Blantyre.
CEPA therefore seeks to fill the following post under the project:
DRIVER
Location: Lilongwe
The incumbent will be responsible for meeting all the transportation needs of CEPA. This includes driving staff to places on official duties and functions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitation of transport needs for all staff;
- Arrangement for insurance and certificate of Fitness (COF) in coordination with the Administrative Assistant;
- Coordinating service for all office vehicles;
- Cleaning of office vehicles;
- Ensuring that vehicle handovers are done properly after every field trip;
- Recommendation of vehicle service schedules; and
- Rectifying minor vehicle faults/damages.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of MSCE;
- At least 3 years of driving organization vehicles;
- A mature individual;
- A clean class C driving license and PG is an added advantage;
- Good command of both English and local languages;
- Ability to do minor vehicle maintenance;
- Ability to work at odd hours; and
- Sober habits.
