Overview:
We are seeking passionate part-time Human-Centered Design (HCD) Training Facilitators to support our HCD Center team in delivering innovative, human-centric training programs that meet the needs of our NGO, government, and community partners. The ideal candidates should have a background in human-centered design principles and methodologies, or significant experience in facilitation and training. This role is crucial to executing training programs and driving partnerships and business development. The HCD Facilitator will report to the HCD Manager with additional support and oversight from the Corps Africa/Malawi Country Director.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate high-quality, human-centered design training to government organizations, community foundations, and NGOs through our training center, and within community settings with various stakeholders.
Co-develop and enhance training materials to ensure they are engaging, relevant, and aligned with the needs of our participants and organizational goals.
Plan, coordinate, and execute training sessions, ensuring they meet the objectives and expectations of the HCD Center and its partners.
Champion the voice of rural communities within CorpsAfrica and all partner organizations working in community development.
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in human-centered design, applying this knowledge to enhance our training program.
Collaborate with fellow trainers and the CorpsAfrica/Malawi office to execute a long-term vision for human-centered design at CorpsAfrica, aligning with our organizational goals and objectives.
Implement human-centered design strategies, processes, and best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement across CorpsAfrica.
Support CorpsAfrica Volunteer Training when needed.
Assist in writing comprehensive reports on trainings conducted, capturing outcomes, challenges, participant feedback, and key learnings for future improvements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field.
At least 1-2 years of proven experience in facilitation, training, or capacity building, with a preference for experience in Human-Centered Design (HCD) or Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD).
Experience in delivering training programs to a variety of audiences, including government organizations, NGOs, and community groups.
Strong leadership and people management skills.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts effectively in English and at least one local language.
Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong sense of accountability and a bias for action.
Ability to learn quickly and work well with a wide variety of people, acting with diplomacy and tact with fellow trainers, CorpsAfrica staff, and trainees/partners.
Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, Communications or Partnerships will be an added advantage.
