In striving to provide quality services, Gardaworld Malawi seeks to engage the services of suitably experienced and qualified Liaison (LO) for its Nchalo project office at  Nchalo, Chikwawa.

Job summary:

Reporting to the Project Manager, the LO is tasked for facilitating communication, collaboration, and information sharing between the GardaWorld and its partners and Communities. He/she will work closely with colleagues and partners to identify areas of potential collaboration and to develop strategies to achieve shared goals. He will also be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with partners and for providing support and guidance as needed. He is also responsible for employee vetting.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and support employee vetting process, selection and recruitment of staff and work closely with the Human Resource Office and Operations Manager
  • Ensuring existence of harmonized relationship with communities surrounding the estate and participate in joint community and Garsaworld activities and attending meetings and events to represent the organization and connect with community members.
  • Listening to community members’ concerns and feedback and communicating them to the appropriate department or individual within the organization.
  • Developing and executing community outreach strategies to build strong relationships and promote the organization’s initiatives.
  • Collaborating with other departments within the organization to ensure that community feedback and concerns are addressed appropriately.
  • Responsible for thinking creatively and develop innovative strategies for community engagement.
  • Facilitate communication between the organization and its partners, including conveying information, coordinating meetings, and ensuring that all parties have access to the information they need
  • Collaborate with colleagues and partners to identify areas of potential collaboration and to develop strategies to achieve shared goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, including attending meetings, events, and conferences as needed
  • Gather and analyze information from multiple sources to understand the needs and goals of the organization and its partners
  • Provide support to partners, including answering questions, providing resources, and offering guidance
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the field and on changes and trends that may affect the organization and its partners

  • Planning, coordination, work monitoring and problem resolution skills.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of sensitivity, confidentiality when dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Results oriented with excellent negotiation, interpersonal, communication and social skills.
  • Good decision-making skills with a sense of diplomacy, attention for detail and strong analytical ability.
  • Have good problem analysis and reporting skills.
  • High moral standing with impeccable integrity; and
  • Ability to grow, support and develop talent within the department.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Higher Diploma in Management studies or its equivalate,
  • At least 8 years’ hands on experience in community liaison
  • Aged between 35 years and 50 years.
  • Knowledge and working experience with Malawi Labour law and criminal intelligence.
  • Strong, nuanced understanding of how communities work and what motivates individuals to become involved in their communities.
  • Skilled communicator who is comfortable with public speaking and capable of cultivating strong relationships.
