OPERATIONS MANAGER

Mwaiwathu Private Hospital invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the post of Operations Manager tenable at the Hospital along Chileka Road in Blantyre.

Post Context

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Operations Manager will be responsible for the management of the Hospital’s operational facilities and projects effectively and efficiently in line with the Hospital’s Strategic plan.

Specific duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • To ensure that Hospital’s facilities are well maintained, tidy, safe and healthy to ensure quality healthcare services delivery.
  • To manage the security of the Hospital facilities in order to provide a secure environment for patients and other stakeholders.
  • To implement and monitor healthcare technology systems to improve patient care and operational efficiency.
  • To lead initiatives for continuous improvement in operational processes and facilities to enhance patient satisfaction and quality of care metrics.
  • To facilitate project development and progress through project initiation, design and execution.
  • To oversee project teams, setting deadlines, designating assignments and monitoring every stage of project progress.
  • To ensure collaboration and coordination of designated project teams and delivery of projects within deadlines and budget constraints.
  • To oversee the marketing and business development initiatives of the Hospital
  • To lead management of departmental performance using the Performance Management System to ensure achievement of the corporate vision.
  • To develop and implement strategic and annuals plans for the department.
  • To prepare annual departmental budget and monitor the performance.
  • To submit accurate monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reports to the CEO.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Project Management or related field
  • Professional certificate in project management will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in operations and/ or project management.
  • Proven track record of successful project management preferably in hospital settings.
