Chief Operating Officer (COO), Malawi
We are seeking a strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee key functions including Operations, Information Technology (IT), Facilities & Administration, Procurement, Projects, and Customer Experience.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will play a key role in contributing to the bank’s strategic direction and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- IT & Digital Transformation: Lead IT strategy, ensuring innovation and robust cybersecurity while driving digital transformation across departments.
- Facilities & Procurement: Manage physical assets and vendor relationships, ensuring cost-effective operations and adherence to safety standards.
- Operational Excellence: Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, scalability, and service delivery. Oversee key projects and monitor performance metrics.
- Leadership & Strategy: Shape and execute organizational strategy, lead change initiatives, and ensure financial oversight in operations and IT.
- Risk Management & Compliance: Establish risk management frameworks and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Customer Experience: Drive a customer-centric strategy, continuously improving service delivery and issue resolution.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related Field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in banking operations, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Strong expertise in IT operations, facilities management, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven leadership and strategic thinking skills.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to lead and influence at all levels.
- Experience in leveraging technology to optimize operations and improve customer service.
